Guidelines Adult Basketball Open Gym
  • The ministry will be open to all stewards (both male and females) who are stewards in good standing with Saint Nicholas.
  • The Adult Basketball Open Gym Ministry will have leads to oversee its growth and ensure processes are being followed. The overall Basketball Ministry Lead will help appointment leads for the Adult Open Gym.
  • An officially signed up member may invite a fellow Orthodox Christian to participate in a single visit in this ministry with the approval of the Ministry Leads and/or a Parish Priest.
  • Ministry Leads will ensure that the Adult Open Gym is open to everyone and is advertised in the Canon of Faith, Weekly Bulletin and the Church’s calendar. All scheduling will be handled through the Church Office.
  • All participants (including guests) must sign up on the church’s website.
  • Weekly Attendance Logs will be maintained.
  • Ministry Leads with the Parish Council Liaisons will confirm compliance to participation eligibility monthly.
  • Any injuries that require medical attention must be reported to the Parish Priests and the Parish Council Liaisons with an Incident Report. Incident Report must be filed within 24 hours of the injury that requires medical attention.
  • The Ministry Donation will be $175.00 for each calendar year. The Calendar Year starts January 1 and ends December 31. Members of the Clergy are exempt from this fee. The initial year fee will be $100 due to the late start in 2024.
  • Church will make the Community Center available for one night a week. If the Adult Open Gym requires a cancellation, every effort will be made for an alternative day to be made available. Exception will be Holy Week.
  • Adult Basketball Open Gym participants will not start playing until the gym is fully vacated from other activities that are scheduled before them.
  • Ministry leads are responsible to ensure that the Community Center is closed, and all lights are closed before leaving.
  • The focus of this ministry will be fellowship and community. Monetary and Stewardship requirements can be reviewed by the Parish Priests on an individual basis.
